PIE Projects Win AMI Awards

On July 17th, 2008, PIE projects won two of three awards given in the Professional Educational Interactive Media category at the 63rd Annual Association of Medical Illustrators conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. The Award of Merit winning projects were Michael Corrin’s application providing a three-dimensional heart model for visualizing the 20 Standard Diagnostic TEE Views, and Willa Bradshaw’s application simulating postoperative stabilization of cardiac patients in the ICU. The competition for these awards was from professional medical illustrators across North America, so the standards were very high.

Founded in 1945, the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) is an international organization composed of industry-leading medical illustrators, related professionals, and students of medical illustration. The AMI promotes the study and advancement of medical illustration and allied fields of visual communication, and strives to promote understanding and cooperation with the medical and related health science professions.

For more information on the AMI and the field of medical illustration, visit the AMI's main web site, www.ami.org.
